In-Motion Fleet Management was established in 2022 as a proudly women-owned company in South Africa. From the start, they’ve taken a people-first approach to logistics and fleet solutions.
What really sets them apart is the way they combine technical expertise with service-driven values. In-Motion Fleet Management is not just about the mechanics of fleet management; they’re about building trusted partnerships with businesses that rely on efficient, scalable operations.
Every business has unique requirements, so they focus on creating customised strategies. That might mean optimising routes, enhancing safety, or streamlining maintenance — whatever it takes to meet a client’s specific needs. At the end of the day, their goal is to make sure each client feels that their solution was designed just for them, according to Lynne Hunt, Director at In-Motion Fleet Management
What are some of the key services that your company provides and impacts on the industry? Why choose In-Motion?
Our products and services certainly facilitate the day-to-day operations and monitoring that fleets need, but the real value comes from the detailed and extensive data we provide alongside video and tracking capabilities. That information allows businesses to manage more effectively and efficiently. Fleet operators are able to pro-actively manage risks, address concerns timeously, identify trends and make more informed decisions. In other words, we don’t just give clients tools to see what’s happening; we give them the insights to run their business better.
We want our clients’ fleets to run at peak efficiency, which means our clients focus on their core business, and we ensure less downtime, lower costs, and ultimately help them grow over the long term.

Tell me about the savings that fleet managers can experience using your services/tech, and sectors that are showing the most growth for it?
One of the biggest advantages of using In-Motion’s technology is the cost savings and operational control. Fleet managers typically see reductions across major categories like fuel, maintenance, labour, and even insurance.
Many fast-growing sectors are adopting fleet management solutions such as, logistics and transportation, retail delivery, construction, mining, and public transport. This is largely as a result of safety concerns, the rising fuel costs, sustainability goals, and the demand for efficiency.
The return on investment is very tangible. For example, GPS tracking and route optimization help cut fuel costs, while driver monitoring and compliance systems reduce accident-related expenses.
Better scheduling and automated reporting lower labour costs, and predictive servicing with scheduled alerts keeps maintenance expenses down.
Insurers also recognize the benefits of telematics solutions as these systems definitely reduce risks when it comes to things like accidents, unsafe driving, or poor maintenance. Many insurers offer discounts to companies using telematics systems.
What are the essentials to providing a personalized service to over 200 clients, while keeping standards high as the company grows?
Our strength lies in the culture we’ve built together. We’re united by our three core values : client service, partnership, and passion. These principals guide us in everything we do. For us, client service means listening carefully and making sure that every solution we provide reflects the unique needs of the business. Partnership is about being more than a provider; it is supporting our clients as they succeed, which builds loyalty and long-term relationships. Lastly, passion is what fuels our innovation; it drives us to refine, improve, and deliver solutions that make a real difference day-to-day
As we grow our business, these values remain our compass. Growth brings challenges, but we have structures in place to maintain our high standards. We have clear service deliverables, such as our response times, reporting formats and maintenance procedures. At the same time, each client has a single point of contact, so they always feel heard and valued. We carry out regular check-ins, surveys, and performance reviews and we use that feedback to refine both our standardized processes and our tailor-made solutions. That balance of structure, technology, and culture is what ensures our clients’ experience is excellent, whether we’re working with a small fleet or a large enterprise.
Is fleet tracking a must for all businesses operating in SA and why?
Operating any size fleet in South Africa definitely comes with its own set of challenges, high vehicle theft rates, rising fuel costs and various compliance requirements. Although fleet tracking isn’t legally mandated, there are very few fleets that operate without it.
Companies making use of tracking technology are not only protecting their assets, but also achieving measurable savings and operation control. It’s a solution that strengthens security while driving efficiency and cost control. The combination makes it a powerful tool for any business managing a fleet.
South Africa unfortunately has one of the highest vehicle theft and hijacking rates globally, so real-time monitoring, geofencing, and rapid recovery tools are critical to safeguarding vehicles and drivers. Without them, businesses risk serious financial loss and operational disruption.
In addition to the security benefits, tracking systems deliver many operational benefits. Route optimization and reduced idling cut fuel costs, scheduled maintenance keeps vehicles on the road longer, and better scheduling reduces excessive driving hours. Tracking also helps businesses stay compliant by monitoring driver hours, speed limits, and safety standards. So, it’s really a tool that addresses multiple challenges experienced by fleet operators in South Africa and Globally.
Who were some of your mentors that helped shape your leadership style and how to get the best out of your staff and optimise the use of tech/data?
A mentor once showed me that the best way to bring out the best in people isn’t through micromanagement, but by setting clear expectations, giving them ownership, and building systems that support growth. That really stayed with me.
At In-Motion, I see that principle alive every day. Our team thrives because we share a culture of service, partnership, and passion. Everyone knows the standards we hold ourselves to, but they also have the freedom to take initiative, innovate, and contribute in ways that matter.
For me, leadership is deeply personal. It’s not about control, it’s about believing in people, giving them the tools to succeed, and creating an environment where they feel proud of the work they do. I strive to build systems strong enough to carry us forward, but are flexible enough to let each individual achieve their own goals. I believe that leadership is rooted in trust, shared values, and genuine care for the people.
