Since 2020, the South African logistics company M&A Logistics has been working with the Transport Management System CarLo very successfully. Above all, the facilitated communication with their drivers has raised operations to the next level.

When the company was founded in 2005, the fleet was limited to a single truck, which moved goods in a small part of the local market. As the market demand increased, M&A Logistics expanded to a fleet of 26 state-of-the-art vehicles covering most areas of logistics.

The company now specialises in the transport of minerals, bulk goods, steel, coils and pallets. When it comes to transport management systems, the company, which is headquartered in Cape Town, South Africa, relies on the CarLo® software from the German family-owned company Soloplan.

For M&A Logistics, the individuality and adaptability of CarLo is one of the most important features of the software. Thus, the company’s requirements could be implemented exactly in order to make the workflows within the company as easy and efficient as possible. Like this the organisation of supply chains in the national as well as international area has been simplified and is now easier to master.

„CarLo inTouch has made communication between on-road operations and back-office data capture seamless. While it does come with its challenges, the daily data imports have elevated our reporting capabilities to a level that outpaces all competitors.“ – Eben Fourie, Director M&A Logistics. The uploading of the delivery notes by the drivers into the CarLo® system not only simplifies data collection, but also enables immediate invoicing and management of the data in real time.

Also a big point for the company was the facilitated monitoring of the vehicles with the CarLo inMOTION add-on. This automated the cost control of the fleet in particular. All documents can be viewed in a central repository. This simplifies the management of all vehicles and shows the clear difference between calculated and actual costs.

Another point of improvement is the further increase in customer satisfaction that M&A Logistics has been able to record since working with Soloplan. Thanks to the CarLo® software, the office staff know exactly when which vehicle is where. This means that an Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) can be given much more easily and accurately. Invoices are also created automatically and sent directly to the customer. Thanks to these aids, the cooperation between customer and service provider runs more smoothly and with fewer misunderstandings.

Through all these facilitations, the company was able to save considerable time after a short, intensive training phase and at the same time increase efficiency.
