Mario Gasparri appointed CNH Industrial Vice President for Southern Africa


CNH Industrial, a global leader in the capital goods sector, recently appointed Mario Gasparri as Vice President for Southern Africa. In this role, he assumes responsibility for all of CNH Industrial’s brands and activities in the region.

Prior to his appointment, he was the Brand President of CNH Industrial Construction Equipment, a post he held from April 2012. Mr Gasparri obtained a degree in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Pisa, Italy, after which he joined Fiat Group, in Italy, in 1988.

His tenure at Fiat - and later at CNH Industrial – provided him with diverse experience spanning the construction, agricultural and vehicle sectors of various markets in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and CIS countries.

In 2007 he was appointed Managing Director for New Holland, an agricultural machinery brand of CNH Industrial, for India and the Asia Pacific markets. In 2009 he became Vice President for Agricultural Equipment Commercial Operations for CNH International.

In 2010 Mario Gasparri was appointed General Manager of the CNH International Region, a role he held until moving to head CNH’s global construction business, which comprised the Case Construction Equipment, New Holland Construction and Kobelco brands.

His appointment as Vice President of CNH Industrial for Southern Africa signals a long-term
commitment, not only to South Africa, but to the continent of as a whole, which the company has identified as an important growth market.

CNH Industrial has recently invested R500 million in a commercial vehicles assembly plant in Rosslyn, outside Pretoria, which will initially build Iveco’s new Eurocargo medium capacity truck for the local market, and also for other right-hand drive markets.
“Our plant in Rosslyn will act as a gateway to Africa. We see significant potential for growth in the economies of sub-Saharan Africa, particularly for large infrastructure projects,” said Mario Gasparri.

“We have high ambitions which we are serious about achieving. We have already noticed changes and improvements and we expect to grow our volumes and market share.” He concluded.
