ABB's Cape Town Technology Day's


ABB’s Technology Days attracted a record number of customers and industry experts on 21 and 22 May at the Lagoon Beach Hotel in Cape Town. The two-day networking exhibition and conference presented the perfect opportunity for the company to engage and update existing customers on the latest technology, while exploring new prospects in the power and automation sector of the Mother City.

As one of the world’s leading power and automation companies, ABB helps its customers use electrical power efficiently, increase industrial productivity and lower environmental impact in a sustainable manner. It is ABB’s ideal to help its customers improve their operating performance, grid reliability and productivity whilst saving energy. In pursuit of this objective, ABB ensures that innovation and quality remain key characteristics of its product, systems and service offering.

More than 60 white papers were presented by local and global ABB experts to bring the latest industry trends and technology innovation to the attention of the delegates. Topics ranged from how SF6-free high voltage circuit breakers reduce carbon footprint; case studies centred around green building solutions; energy efficient solutions as well as the latest thinking in terms of a systems approach in mining, minerals and measurement solutions for any industry, utility and municipality. In line with the ABB philosophy, sustainable solutions were the resonating theme for the event.

Mike de Swardt, Regional Manager: ABB Cape Town, was thrilled by the customer turnout and state-of-the-art product displays. “It’s pleasing that through the innovative technology showcased and informative topics in the programme, the attendance was outstanding. I was filled with utmost pride to watch the customers as they engaged with the various specialists at the exhibition and the vibe in the breakaway rooms was remarkable,” said de Swardt. “The success of the event was definitely reflected by the enthusiasm of our customers and I am thrilled that we have been able to provide them with valuable information, making the time they invested with us worth their while.”
